Hi guys, i found a way that fixed the problem for me.After serveral failed attemptes, same as you mentioned above, i used the unistall tool provided by BitDefender to get rid of all perviously installed versions.Make sure you go to your C drive, locate the program files folder and manually delete the Bitdefender Antivirus Free folder. Reboot after this, download BitDefender from their homepage and run the setup. Once the download finished i had the same error 'please reboot before installing' pop up again. Just reboot, go to your C drive, programm files, BitDefender Antivirus Free, kitinstaller (if not already the first folder), and from there run the BPInstaller.exe.After this it worked!

I then wanted to try one other vendor so uninstalled this and tried the other vendor. Preferred Bitdefender (other vendor is good but has massive nagware), so uninstalled the other vendor and tried to come back to Bitdefender, which ran me into this same problem you had.So I tried this and it didn't work for me. After several attempts trying various things i almost gave up and moved on to another vendor because it just shouldn't be this hard to install AV. My last attempt i manually created the install folders and set security very loose on them; followed the steps below but used 'Everyone' role instead to make sure there is no way its a permission issue., see step #4​This finally worked.​.
