Not helped by the wide-spread exploitation of bugs and 'features' that screw over every other class in the game (I'm looking at the AA reload cycle feature and slingshot drops primarily, including the F abuse as of the latest patch). That, and in the community at least, CV players whine the loudest about their class not being OP, despite boasting among the highest damage averages and the highest survival rates while effectively playing against RNG, because no other class can do anything to deal with a CV attacking them - except sector reinforcement, which is largely useless due to the speed of aircraft. Dodging, which is next to impossible against anyone halfway skilled and only viable for DDs.WG's absolute silence and defence of their CV rework has engendered a lot of toxicity and all of it is aimed at CV players.

The forced addition of CVs into Ranked (viewed as a prelude to adding them into clan battles. Which they already did briefly as a test) has only reinforced the divisions. Unless WG does something. I'm expecting team-killings to increase. Or mass desertions (a lot of my clan stopped playing because of the CV cancer making the game unfun).shrugs.CVs have been cancerous to the enjoyment of the game overall. I certainly had fun during my forays into the class. The ships I was harassing relentlessly without real consequence? Maybe not so much. That said, it's a bit of a mixed bag. The CVs are kind of better than they were pre-rework - they can't simply delete a ship at will and the lack of de plaining means potatoes are less, well, useless. On the other hand, there's a lot more of them, the planes are faster and multiple drops per squadron make them a lot more annoying. Also, the combination of DoT and speed makes it so targets don't have a chance to recover - in the old system, a ship could have a minute or two to recover. Not so with the rework. Which can make people a bit angry and feel victimized.shrugs.CVs have been cancerous to the enjoyment of the game overall.

Click to expand.WeeGee got more players to play CVs, as well as fixing a lot of the issues the playerbase had with RTS (skill gap, devstrikes, etc), so the rework has by all standards been a success. It is just that a loud and vocal minority of players can't stand the thought of having to adapt their playstyle. The fact of the matter is that only bad players consistently die to CVs, and overall the playerbase doesn't actually know what it wants. They cry about the rework they wanted, they cry about WeeGee giving AA more player input rather than them wracking up player kills.

Wargaming shouldn't listen to the community, because it doesn't know what it wants and the last time the community had a free hand in balancing anything, we got Graf Zeppelin.TL;DRGit gud you whiny bitches. I had a lot more fun with the RTS as the mindgames were a great and enjoyable challenge. These days, it's all about what ship to target first and then farming the enemy team faster than the other CV.

Fighters are crap and can't do much to protect teammates. Even in the event I do get a squadron in the right place at the right time, they only kill 1 plane per 1 fighter. Once that's done they fuck off and I don't even get the consumable back.
