Star Wars Empire At War Mods Halo
I've been wanting to do a mod spotlight for the Empire at War Remake mod for a while now but now it seems to be the perfect time to do with the release of their version 2.0 lite a few days ago. I've been a staunch follower of this mod for the game Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption since. Star Wars: Empire At War - Halo Campaign Commander Mod. While the hype surrounding Halo isn’t quite as huge as it was several years ago, Halo is still regarded as a great sci-fi FPS. The games have memorable characters and stories, and modder theFarseer has taken the Halo universe, and transferred it over to Empire at War.
Here's a few good mods off the bat.1. Has to be Republic at War. Arguably the best, and definitely the most polished. It feels like it's own expansion, if you try any, try this one.2. Is Thrawn's Revenge. It's arguably the most balanced, and lore intensive. Personally I find it a bit dull, visually, but if you want some epic space battles, and a unique tech system, I say it's a must.3.
Is Awakening of the Rebellion. I only recently discovered it, but it quickly became one of my favourites. It's very visually good looking, and makes you think more about tactical choices as ships are very expensive, and you really feel it when you lose them.(Warning though, 2.5 can be tricky to install in English, but overall is fairly polished, ask if you need help; 2.6 English Beta, has many improvements, but is very glitchy.)4. Is the Clone Wars mod. It's based on the show, and is surpizingly different to Republic at War.It has some pretty fun ground combat, but I have to rank it lower because the space combat isn't the best, and it likes to crash a lot when saving.
A problem I never had when playing RaW.5. Is a bonus one, Stargate: Pegasus Chronicles. It's still very early in developement, and they don't have ground battles nor galactic conquest yet.
But it's a very good mod nonetheless, and seems to be very much a labour of love.P.s. Make a copy of your XML folder, and replace it whenever you change from Republic at War, or Awakening of the Rebellion, to another mod. Both those mods make changes to the AI, replace the XML folder(and in RaW's case: remove the 'scripts' folder) whenever you play something else.I hope this helps you find a mod you like. I just got this from the Star Wars Humble Bundle and I would like to get any performance issues out of the way before I start it up.:-) Well there's the ram fix, but I don't think you'd need that unless you have an older computer. I've never had any issues that would be for that fix.EDIT: Or was it for newer computers? Crap, I can't remember what the deal with the ram fix is, I woke up ten minutes ago.
But I don't think you'd need it.
