555 Interval Timer Kit
The 'Three Fives' Discrete 555 Timer kit from Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories is a faithful and functional transistor-scale replica of the classic NE555 timer integrated circuit, one of the most classic, popular, and all-around useful chips of all time. The 555 timer chip in monostable mode in an electronic circuit works like an egg timer. When you start it, the timer turns on the output, waits for the time interval to elapse, and then turns the output off and stops. This mode is called monostable because when wired this way, the 555 has just one.
555 Timer Circuit KitUse this timer to control the frequency and length of electrical pulses by switching circuits on and off. You can use the Velleman MK111: Adjustable Interval Timer Minikit for the intermittent operation of blinking lights and slide projections, timing photo and video shoots, and other automated projects. You have the ability to adjust the pulse time between a half second and 5 seconds and pause time between 2.5 seconds and a minute.Category: Daily UseDifficulty: IntermediateFor an already constructed (non-DIY) version, view the module.Specifications. Output relay with dry switch-over contact: 3A/24V. Pulse time adjustable: between 0.5 and 5 sec.
Pause time adjustable: between 2.5 and 60 sec. Power supply: 12V DC / 100mA. Board Dimensions: 1.6 x 3.4' (4 x 5.8cm). How to get lint off clothes. I think this unit is very good. I bought it to create two rows of alternating warning LEDs that light the lower edge of our model railroad club's 'duck-under' bridge. The height and color of the bridge is such that it's possible for people to walk into the bridge when it's in the down position thereby injuring their head or face. The lights will prevent that.I enjoyed putting this kit together.
However, I was looking to achieve a 50% duty cycle at about a 1 second rate. To achieve this, I had to rob one 50K pot from a second unassembled kit and install it in place of the 1 megohm trim pot. The 50K pots seem to provide a good adjustment range so I would recommend eliminating the 1 MOhm pot and providing two 50K'ers instead.Even though I used a small soldering iron meant for board work, I was irritated to discover that the printed circuit traces peal away from the board very, very easily. Although at first sight the boards are very nicely done, improving their tolerance to the heat of soldering would be a significant improvement.P&H is too high for such a small box.Overall, I think this is a great product, very handy to have and versatile.

But please consider changing the 1 MOhm pot to 50K, make the circuit board more resistant to the heat of soldering (and repairing) and reduce your P&H charges.
